Rail privatisation has failed - we want public ownership
Our railways are in a mess. And they’re in a mess because they’ve been privatised. The system is inefficient, wasteful and expensive - it’s time for a change.
It’s a disgrace that passengers bear the burden of higher fares and taxpayers fork out huge subsidies, whilst services get worse and shareholders laugh all the way to the bank.
We want a joined-up railway, run by and for the public.
Chris Grayling says he wants a joined up railway too – but for him, this means privatising everything: trains, tracks and infrastructure. This will start with the new fully privatised East-West line. This will end up costing us more and will fragment our rail services further..
The good news is that 66% of the UK public want a publicly owned railway! It makes perfect sense. So let’s make it happen. Join the movement for a joined up rail network: no more privatisation, yes to public ownership!
Bring our railway into public ownership!
