Last month, the Financial Times broke the news that the Thames Water creditors are closing in on a deal to take control of the utility, and keep it out of Special Administration.
Under the terms of the proposal, Thames Water’s fines from Ofwat would be waived until 2030, and their pollution and performance targets suspended or “significantly modified”.
Thames Water's creditors want a holiday from the rules, and they want us to pick up the bill.
We're asking every single MP to sign our open letter to Ofwat and Environment Secretary Emma Reynolds, demanding that this deal gets rejected.
Because this deal affects every household in the country. If we reward one failing water company with the ability to set its own rules and regulations, every other water company will do the same. Signing off on this deal would set a new low for the whole of the privatised water industry.
Below is a list of all the MPs who have signed, and those in the Thames Water region who have yet to sign.
If your MP is on the 'yet to sign' list, or if you can't find their name at all, they still haven't signed.

Hello. Your list of MPs to sign or yet to sign the Thames water deal is incomplete. Jo Platt Labour MP Leigh and Atherton for example isn't included as far I can search.

The list shows MPs who have signed, or who are from the region served by Thames Water, which precludes Jo Platt.

Despite myself having requested that my local MP hasn’t responded to the request to sign up, he not being the only one, as it appears only Conservative Members to sign up are actually in the Thames Water Area, I wonder why? As this will not only affect Themes Water, but all private water companies so this needs win through!

I wrote to my MP Dame Angela Eagle and she wrote back saying 'Thames Water is financially stable'. She also said 'I understand that Thames Water is now under a cash lock-up arrangement. These means only Ofwat can approve any further dividend payments, and this restriction will remain in place until Thames Water’s credit ratings improve.'
I have to say I'm not happy with her reply I guess she's following the party line as she does with everything I email her about. I won't be voting for her next time.

It's hard to understand why my MP hasn't signed this. Is it that she actually believes it will cost £100bn, a figure from a report sponsored by water companies? And allegiance to neoliberal policy? What is the reason?

I've emailed my (Tory) MP multiple times about this. I've had a number of nonsensical replies.
When such a strong majority of the public wants water back in public ownership, it is absurd that less than 20% of MPs are prepared to sign this.
