Who's backing our NHS?
Earlier this year, We Own It asked every Labour leadership and deputy leadership candidate to commit to public ownership in ten key sectors.
Now the coronavirus crisis is showing everyone just how much we all depend on our NHS. When the crisis is over, we must never go back to underfunding and undermining our NHS through privatisation.
We've asked the Labour leadership candidates to commit to four pledges for our NHS:
- Reinstate our NHS as a fully publicly owned, universal service, ending all privatisation and outsourcing
- Give our NHS the level of funding it needs per capita, in line with comparable countries like France and Germany
- Enable the NHS to produce its own essential medical equipment and supplies
- Establish a publicly owned pharmaceutical company to improve access to vital drugs and vaccines
We will update this tracker whenever we receive new information from candidates.

As of 31/03/2020, we have not received a reply from the leadership candidates who are yet to make the four pledges. We will continue to keep this page updated as and when they reply.
