Campaigning isn't easy, especially right now. That makes it even more important to take a moment to celebrate everything you have achieved in standing up for public services for people not profit.
You’ve campaigned against the bailout and propping up of Thames Water and for public ownership of water outside the High Court, Ofwat's headquarters and even at a Crystal Palace football match. You’ve challenged the power of private lobbyists and spoken truth to power.
You won a victory with Association of British Commuters, making sure the new publicly owned railway's duties include disability, social, economic and environmental impacts. When the government didn’t log your responses correctly on its rail consultation, we challenged them and got better access to the Minister and his team.
You’ve won a victory with South Yorkshire joining Greater Manchester, Liverpool and West Yorkshire in bringing buses under public control.
And you’ve pushed back against government plans for new private finance in the NHS, managing to get 40 Labour MPs coming out strongly against the plans in private and in public alongside journalists and 53 accounting and finance academics, and embarrassing the government into not mentioning the policy at the budget.
