Private finance deals signed under Blair’s government continue to damage the NHS to this day. But instead of learning the lessons of that disaster, the government is planning to bring new private finance into the NHS for building Neighbourhood Health Centres. If new PFI is allowed to go ahead, it will result in cash that should go toward patient care instead being sucked out in private shareholder dividends.

So far, We Own It has worked with almost 70 MPs to demand the government drop plans for new NHS private finance in our NHS. And we are continuing to work with MPs to oppose those plans and protect patients.

That is why on Tuesday 20th January, we held an event in parliament, hosted by MP for Leeds East, Richard Burgon, to continue the work on putting pressure on the government to drop those plans. The event was attended by 17 MPs and 2 Peers.
